Some idea of the nature of the work which the Earl of Lonsdale will publish may be
gathered , by a visit to Mr . Rowland Ward ' s GalleryPiccadilly . Here you may see the
interestin , g natural history specimens which the Earl collected during hia visit to the Arctic
regions . There are 13 heads of moose deer , a grand head of the musk ox , 12 caribou ,
half a dozen mountain-goat , bison , and bear . A musk ox skeleton is undergoing preparation
, and one or two other specimens are still in the naturalist ' s hands . The birds , of which
there are nearly 500 specimens , include all the principal representatives of the feathered race which are to be found in northern
