We have received an early copy of the second part of the sale catalogue of Mr .
Mackenzie ' s library . This is the concluding portion of the books which will be sold byauction from April 27 to May 11 ( excluding
Saturdays ) . Included are many tracts 011 the Rebellions of 1715 and 1745 , besides a largo
collection ( arranged chronologically ) of works upon Scotland . Among the interesting items in the catalogue we mention 52 lots under

Messrs . Sotheby are going to include in an early sale a MS . Bible , which is stated to be
the copy taken by Saint Louis to Palestine , and by him used .
Until very lately only one copy of the first edition of ' The Pilgrim's Progress ' has been
known , but as a proof of the uncertainty which always surrounds such matters tivo
copies have been ' picked up' by fortunate collectors during the past few months . Strange
