The attention of advertisers is respectfully requested to the advantages possessed by the above Journal as a means of bringing- advertisements to tlie notice of the public . Its circulation is large , and is steadily increasing . The great influence it exercises in professional circles renders the paper a valuable medium for all who are desirous of the patronage of the Army , the Navy , the Volunteers , or of the great mass of general readers who consult its columns . As a weekly chronicle of Naval and Military events and of all matters of interest to the members of both Services , the Gazette forms an accurate and trustworthy work of reference ; and on such special topics as the art of War its opinions and digests are eagerly consulted . The name of the Editor justifies the expectation of the high literary excellence which charactetises the general writing and truthfulness of the Journal . Advertisements cannot be separated from the l > ody of the paper ; the benefit derived from them , therefore , is of a lasting character . The Army a ^ d Navy Gazette is filed regularly in all Clubs , Public and Government Offices , Mess-rooms , and INews-rooms , and circulates largely amongst the nobility and general public . The Gazette therefore commands a far larger number of readers , and consequently a greater and more permanent inflnence than many other papers which possess ten times the actnsil circnlation of the Gazette .
