Hugh Conway Memorial . —At a meeting
of the subscribers to the Hugh Conway Memorial Fund , held at the Council House , Bristol , under the presidency of the Mayor ,
Mr . C . Wathen , it was decided to have a medallion and tablet of the late Mr . Fred Fargus at a cost of £ 100 to be placed in Bristol
Cathedral , and to invest , the balance of the amount subscribed ( £ 099 . ISs . ( jd . ) for founding an intermittent scholarship at the Bristol
Universit <_ J y College , of £ 40 per annum , tenable for three years , and then to drop for three years . It was also resolved that the
scholarship should be open only to natives of Bristol and those who had resided there not less than seven years previous to the election . It was
decided that the scholarship should be founded for English literature . —Times .
