While I am writing I cannot refrain from communicating the flittering intelligence of the groat good your pills ar « do jDe in Leeds and its neighbourhood . It is clearly a great error to find fault with a medicine merely because it is a patent one ; and more especially since its use has contributed so largely to the publie health . The fact is , however , predjudice is fast giving way , as it always must where the pills are tried . A few cases m point may serve to confirm and illustrate-what I have asserted .

I THE CORDIAL BALM OF SYR 1 ACUM . Is a gentlestimulant and renovator of the impaired functions of life , and is exclusively directed to the cure of the Generative System , whether constitutional rj acquired , loss of sexual power , and debility arising from Syphilitio disease ; aad is calculated to afford decided relief to those who , by early indulgence ia solitary habits , have weakened the powers of their system , and fallen into a state of chronic debility , by which the constitution is left in a deplorable state , and that nervous mentality kept up which places the individual in a state of anxiety for the remainder of life . The consequences arising from this dangerous practice , are not confined to its pure physical result , but branch to moral ones ; leading the excited deviating mind into a fertile field of seducive error , — into a gradual but total degradation of manhood—into

Lokdok Cobm Eexchakgb , Monday , Jajj . 17 . — liofcwitkstanaing the arrivals of English Wheat Binee this day . Be ' nhight , as well as for T to-day ' s market , coastwise and by land carriage , the ' samples have been extremely limited , sod the stands to-day were poorly supplied with samples ; the demand for that article arising chiefly from & rather small attendance of both town and country buyers was unusually dull , and the quotations suffered an abatement on those noted on Monday last , of from la . to 23 . per quarter , and a largo quantity remained even at the close of the market . We bad a fair average supply of fine Foreign Wheat on offer , the Isale
for-which was so inanimate that prices were nominally -unaltered . Yery little has been imported during the -week . TSe best Malting Barley was taken off freely , at faH rates of currency , but in grinding and distilling sortavery little was transacted . Good season-made Matt was in steady inquiry , and other qualities were quite as dear . Owing to the increased receipts of Oals from Ireland , the Oat trade wasslow , yet the rates were unaltered Beans and Peas were in short , supply , and sluggish inquiry , at late rates . Tne Flour trade was again 'dull , and the nominal price of the best town-made was 433 . per 2801 bs .
ShitbtikloxJattls Market , Mokbat , Jaw . 16 . — tJompared with that exhibited on this day * e ' nnight , the supply of beasts -on sale this morning was but moderate , yet it proved fully adequate to meet the -demands of "the huichers , whose attendance was not to say numerous . For the primest jqoalilies , we tad a fair , but by no means hrisk inquiry ; also , in most instasees , prices about equal to those obtained on Monday last , but the diddling and inferior descriptioLB 'were heavy , at barely last week's rates . However , a clearance was affected previously to the conclusion of bnsiness . Daring the past week sot a single head of stock has bees imported from any quarter , and we had none here to-day ; hence , we are compelled to omit cur usual tabular -statement of imports .
B 020 EGH Ho ? Market . —Although our supplies tt Hpp 3 continue tolerably go&d for the season , the demand for them rules firm , and the quotations jjoted on this day Be ' nnight are readily sapportod . East Kent in pocktes , £ 5 10 s . to £ 6 12 * . ; Mid . do . £ 5 . 5 s . to £ 6 2 * . ; ditto , in bag ? . £ 4 to £ a iOa . ; Sussex , £ 4 to £ 5 53 .: Farnhajns , £ 8 8 s . to jCIo IO 3 . ; Old Hops , £ 3 to £ i 10 s . "Wool Markets . — -Since our last , the imports of wool into London , have been about 3 , 000 bale 3 and bags , mostly from our Australian colonies . There is a steady inquiry for the best qualities , at full rates of currency , but in other kinds very little is passing .
Tallow Market . —During the past wpek , there ias been a "better demand than for some time past , but , notwithstanding , the price is rather on the de--elifie ; this -arises from a disposiiion on the part of the holders generally to realise . The price for the . aotnmn of this year , being abont 463 to 46 a 3 d , offers them no inducement to support the present rates , and to incai heavy charges . The home supply of Tallow is good , and the price , 47 s 6 d to 48 s net
Potato Markets . —The receipts of Potatoes in the Pool during the past week have bevn on a liberal scale . The demand , however , arising from lie seasonable change in the weather , has become firm , and late rates are firmly snpported : —Scotch reds , 45 s to 503 per ton j York , ditto , 55 s to 6 O 3 ; I > avonB , 453 to 50 s ; Kent and Essex whites , 40 s to -453 ; Wisbeach , 353 to 45 s j Jersey and Gnrnsey blues , S 03 to 40 s ; Yorkshire Prince Regents , 45 s to 50 s .
Liverpool Cattle Market , Mosdat , Jah . 16 . — We have had a smaller supply of Cattle at market to-day than of late ; prices much the same . Beef , 5 | d to 6 d , Mutton , 3 d ; to 6 d per 1 b . Litewool Cobs Market , Mojtdat , Jas . 16 . — The supplies of Grain generally have been small during the past week . On Tuesday we had a good consamptive demand for Wheat from both town and country millerBj the bnsiness has since been of
limited extent , hut the advance then established , of Sd per bnshel , has been firmly maintained , flour meets better sale 1 2000 to 3000 barrtls of United States and Canadian have changed hands at 28 s per larreL The market is very hare of Oats , and 2 ? 5 d per 451 bais readily made of good mpaling qualities . Oatmeal also is fully as dear ; good Irish manufacture sold on Friday ia sm&ll parcels at 21 a Sd per 2 l 01 bs . Bailey , Beans , and Pea ? , continue in limited request , without alteration is prices .
Manchester Cobs Market , Saturday , Jan . 14 . — A steady consumptive demand for flour haB bten experienced throughout the week , fully equal to the supply ; and , the stocks being light , Factors were enabled to realiza an improvement on the previous week ' s advance , 40 s per Back haying been obtained for choice qualities of English whites . Oatmeal has likewise been in better request , and superior cuts have found buyers at 23 i per load . The snpplies into ibis district from She inlerier eontinao scanty ,
¦ whilst from Ireland the imports at Liverpool and Runcorn comprises 2583 quarters of Wheat , 2737 -quarters of Oats , 2658 sacks of flour , and 9-157 loads of Oatmeal , There was not much passing . at our marktt this morning , "but the advance noted thi 3 day se ' naight tm Wheat was firmly supported . On Flour and Oatmeal we likewise raise our quotations 6 d to Is per Back on the former , and 6 d per load on the latter article . In the Talue of Oats or Beans no change can De noted .
HOCHDALE FlASXEL MaBKET , MeKDAT , JaH . 16 . — "We have had an unusually dull market to-day . Tery few bnjers have attended ; aad the business transacted has been very limited . The merchants tare offered Ies 3 money for flannels , but the manufacturers very generally have refused to sell at Tednced prices . The wool market has been stiil worse : few sales have been effected at any price .
