The first of the three . Simeon Goodriek , presented his piece , and told the keeper and watcher to Stand back , or they should hare it . The second whose name is Richard Goodriek , aho shouldered his sun , and said , "Stand back , or you shall have it all . " The keeper answered " Well , I can gite you as much . " The watchers then turned round , the
keeper saying , "Good morning , I know you , " and then proceeded to the head keeper , to whom they related the abore circumstances . At his request , information was forwarded to the York police , who refused to act in the matter without a warrant . About one o ' clock on Sunday , the keeper and some assistants proceeded to Fulford in search of the Goodricks , when they found Simeon at the house of a person named Hallett , and toofrhimin custody to the Bay Horse public house . In consequence of his violent conduct it was deemed advisable to procure more assistance from Escrick , but whilst this was being done , Goodricks' friendB mustered in strong numbers , and seemed inclined to rescue the individual already in custody , and a regular row ensued . Simeon , who
had been previously handcuffed , contrived to Bet one hand at liberty , and with the handcuff suspended from the other wrist , aimed a violent blow at one of the party , which fortunately did not reach its destination . The keeper immediately sprang at Goodriek , and giving him a 8 erereblow with his fist on the forehead , laid him insensible , the blood running copiously from the place , which was laid open . Goodriek remained in this state for some time , when it was found necessary to remove him to bed , and a surgeon was seat for . On Monday a warrant was obtained for the apprehension of the two
Goodnoks , and was placed in the hands of Turner and other three policemen of York . They proceeded to Fulford , where they met Richard Goodriek in the town street ; and it was not till after they had thrown him upon the ground , that he would submit to be taken into custody . He was then removed in a cab to York Castle . On the fol lowing morning the two Goodticks , who are brothers , and notorious poachers , were taken before the Rev . John Ion , of Barlby , and after an examination of about seven hours , they were both committed for trial at the next Assizes . They were , however , afterwards admitted to bail .
Manslaughter in York . —On Saturday afternoon last , an inquest was held at the Turk ' s Head , in St . Andrewgate , York , on the body of a commercial traveller , named John Charles Warren , who died from injuries received in an affray iu that street , at an early hour on Friday morning . The evidence was of great length , and went to show that the deceased , in company- with Mr . Wb . Henry Monkmao , solicitor , bad Bpent the evening , on Thursday , at the Star Inn , in Stonegate , from which place they went to Mrs . Tyne ' s , in St .
Andrewgate , in which street they were accoBted by a man named Wm . Plewesand another , and by whom Mr . Monkman and the deceased were attacked . The deceased was-much injured , though at first he was not considered to be in dinger . Insensibility , however , afterwards ensued , and he died at Mrs . Tyne ' s , on Saturday morning . The evidence went to fix Plewes with being the offender , and the jury , after a long consultation , returned a verdict of manslaughter against him , and he was committed to York Castle .

TaK LATE ROBBKRT AT WlNDSOB CaSTUS . —The sixteen-shillings-a-week porter , who absconded from Windsor Castle on the discovery of the recent extensive robberies , has been apprehended , and has undergone several examinations . The course which the Crown intends to pursue at tbe next examina tion of the prisoner is not yet known ; but it has been determined that , until further evidence shall hare been adduced * the particulars of the inquiries shall be kept as secret as possible . The following is a list of the witnesses who were examined on Tuesday before Mr . Harcourt , one of the maffistrates for the county of Berks , and the Lord Chamberlain : —

Paris , Tuesday Evenins . —In addition to the foregoing important information , the French Miuistry received what may be called a severe cheek in the Chamber of Deputies to-day . The proposition of M . Maugin for weeding the House of persons under the influence of the Crown , and which has been bo ofteu rejected by large majorities , was thrown out to day by only the small majority of S 3 relative and 16 absolute . The numbers being 203 ayes , and 170 noes . Considering the great force with which the Soult and Guizot Cabinets have hitherto conducted matters in the Chamber of Deputies this division is reckoned as almost tantamount to a defeat , and already the word dissolution is hinted at .

FROM OUR LONDON CORRESPONDENT . London , Thursday Evening , April Q , Half-past Seven . City News . —More ** Lame Ducks . "—The Stock Market has been thrown into the greatest consternation , " as the quidnuncs have it , during yesterday and to-day , by the defalcation and absconding of two of the principal brokers ( father and son ) -on 'Change ; one of them , the father , was also the agent for many highly respectable public companieB , and both carried on a joint business , in addition to their brokerage , as bankers and foreign money agents . The Stock Exchange- Committee assembled immediately on the " melancholy fact" of the gentlemen having "bolted" becoming known , and measures were adopted to try and discover their
whereabout ; but hitherto to no purpose . From documents left behind , it appears that , on on * tramaction alone , the father had overdrawn to the amount of £ 45 , 000 , and the son £ 28 , 000 t besidte which , there are immense losses sustained by private individuals , amongst whom are a great number of 44 very religious" persons , chiefly ladies , who entrusted their accounts to these " godly men , " for the Laudable purpose of taking " an honest opportunity to turn an honest penny , when any favourable change in the market should occur : "—that is , when some persons , from commercial embarrassment or other causes , were compelled to make . a sacrifice to meet a pressing exigency , these " gen tiemen" were at libertv to make sa / eand profitable
investments , by which their clients' means Would gain a little , and themselves » good deal . Like , however , the very remarkable " Royal Union Annuity Company , " —the etill more memorable "Independent West Middlesex Assurance , " and the more recent waddling " '' of the rich and religion * house of Wright and Co ., to a pretty tune , this " investment" has been a safe game for only one side : and if the contemplation of the very serious losses ( and probable suicides 1—what a pity !) did not render these failures matter of serious reflection , one could almost bear to laugh at the upshot of the tricks by which those persons who . have cunning equal to their dupes' cupidity , ease the dolts of
their snpeifluous pewter , and evaporate , to the land of " freedom and speculation" It is only when these kind of things come before the publictor there are hundred * of weekly occurrence , in the minor transactions of the money juggle—that people can see the preposterous absurdity of those who think all who dabble in the funds may get rich , when it can only be at the corresponding loss of others . When one " great gun" goes off , the smaller artillery usually accompany it—the fall of a pillar will bring some of the pinnacles along with , itmore must go , and , as in the case of this "eminent house" of Wakefield and Son , John Bull will exclaim , at each crack , "Bless me ! who'd a thought it !"
Bow-street . —This day , William Walker , a poor cripple , bereft of all power up one side of hu body , by a paralytic stroke , was brought up , charged with begging last night in the Strand . He waa described in the police sheet as an "incorrigible beggar , " and the policemen proved that he had been several times convicted of this offence ( begging !) at various metropolitan police courts . Mr . Jardine said it was disgraceful Jot him to go about in such a manner , and committed him to the House of Correction for six weeks . Poor fellow ! gladly would
he hare rescued himself from this disgraceful situation ; only , Providence had afflcted him with paralysis ; the inhumanity of his fellow-men denied him food , lodging , or clothing ; ' and for the sake of alleviating his miseries ( and those of no light character ) , the wretched being is consigned to the horrible , and worse than fiendish , torture of six weeks on the silent system , —aye , and labour too !—in the torture-trap of Tothill-ttelds . Such is the poor cripple ' s reward : the rich cripples and w- — -3 get pensions !
Tp London Sessions commenced this morning , but could not form a Court for want of another Alderman ; and , as the Criminal Court was sitting , the Common Sergeant referred prosecutors to that Court for the purpose of preferring their bills . At the Old R&fley , this morning , a youth named William Hammond , aged 17 , an apprentice to Mr . Clarke , the keeper of a post-office receiving-house in Jermyn-street , pleaded guilty to an indictment for stealing money from a letter entrusted to him for transmission through the post . His brother , about two years younger , waa tried for receiving part of the money , knowing it to have been stolen , and the changing of a £ 5 . note , under very suspicions circumstances , waa traced to him ; bn $ erentaallT the Jury acquitted hisa ; a result to be attributed , no doubt , to his excellent character . —The youth who pleaded guilty wm then sentenced to one year ' s hard labour in the House of Correction , Coldbath-fields .
