'stion : —•• The absolute necessity of every good Chartist assisting to tha utmost of his power all those , and their immediate connections , who have suffsTrd , and ate likely to suffer , from having honestly advocated the cause of the people . " A collection was entered into for Mrs . Ellis , when every member present handed in his mite . The treasurer , Mr . W . Coulthard , wili keep open tbe subscription for another week , when i % will be transmitted to tbe proper quarter . Mr , J . B Hanson then read tbe Fleet Paper for January 28 th , in which Mr . R . Oastler gives a most original and graphic picture of the movements of the league during the late strike , and their anxiety to involve and destroy Mr . O'Connor at the late Birmingham Conference .

Jeremiah Lane delivered an instructive lecture urpen the present distressed state of the country , and tb « means whereby that distress might be effectually removed . The lectuie was listened to throughout with the deepest attention ; and , at the conclusion , several persons joined tbe Association . In the evening , tbe hall was densely crowded in every part Mr . James leach delivered a lecture on the Corn Laws , at great length , and with his usual talent .

COLJTS . —Mr . Thomas Tattersall , of Burnley , delivered a splendid leetnre on Tuesday night , to a crowded and overflowing audience . At the close of the lecture ten new members were enrolled . HUDDERSF 1 ELD- —The Chartists of Huddersfleld have agroed to bold their weekly meetings in the Association Room , Upperhead-row , on Monday , instead of Tuesday evenings commencing on Monday , tbe 20 tk . BRACFCRD . —On Sunday tbe Chartists of Little Hcrton met in their room . P . irk-lane . A collection was made for the family of Wm . Buckley , a victim of the 16 th of August League-plot in Bradford , which amounted to three shillings and a penny . Several new members were enrolled . This locality , amounting to npwarcts of thirty members , commenced a few weeks ago with only eleven . The proceeds of the school pay rent , fixe , ami light ; thus the members are enabled to devota the whole of their contributions to forward the principles of democracy .
The members of the Central Locality met on Sunday morning , when a resolution was unanimously passed to puy to the Treasurer seven shillings as contribution , and to usa their exertions to forward the circulation of the Northern Star by encouraging the sale of it in the Council Room , and every other way in their power . The meeting adjourned to Sunday morning at ten o ' clock , when it is hoped every member will attend , as business of great importance will be : transacted . Os Monday sight , the members of tbe Council met in thtir room , BattcTWorth ' s-buildings , when tbe following resolutions were passed : — "That in the opinion of this meeting the property in use by tbe Council , bslonga to the whole Chartist body of Brad *

" " That no person has any pewer to hire or let the room without tbe consent of the Council .
