A complete knowledge of the symptom * and treatment of these insidious and dangerous diseases , can only be required by those who , in addition to experii-ricw , have gone through a regular course of Medical Instruction ; for unfortunately th « re are hutif . rrds who annually fall victims to the itnmoderair uku of mercury , and other dangerous remedies , ndtuinintered by illiterate men , who , owing to a total ignorance of the general principles of
medicine , ruitt the constitution , by suffering the disease to get into the system , where being carried by the circulation oj tht blood imto all parts of the body , ttie whole frame becomes tainted with venereal poison ; and the most unhappy consequences ensue , for it then assumes so many appearances , ; that the greatest ' diwimiuation is often necessary to detect its presence , at one time affecting the skin , particularly the head and face , with eruptions and ulcer ? , closely resembling and often treated as scurvy ; at another pt-rind producing the most violent painfl in the limbs and bones , which is frequently mistaken for rheumatism ; thus the whole frame becomes debilitated and decayed , ' and a lingering death puts a period to iheir dfeadfulnufferingi . -

INFANTILE DISEASES REMOVED . IT has been well and truly observed that "he who makes two blades of grass to grow where but one gre * before , is a real benefactor to his country . " Can any eulogy , therefore , be too high for that man , who , with the blessing of God , is enabled , every year of his life , to rescue many thousands of his fellow-creatures from an early grave ?
USE ATKINSON'S INFANT'S PRESERVATIVE III Might be chalked upon every wall in town or country ; but as this Medicine has not attained it ' s celebrity ( a celebrity , of Fifty Years standing , ) from puffing of any description , so neither does it seek to rest its future fame upon any other basis than the simple fact that upwards of FIFTY THOUSAND BOTTLES of it are annually u » ld in Great Britain . For the prevention and cure of those disorders incident to Infants , it is a pleasant , innocent and efficacious Carminative ; intended as a Preventive against , and a Cure for , those complaints to , which Infants are liable , as Affections of the Bowels , Difficult Teething , Convulsions , Rickets , &c . and an admirable Assistant to Nature during the
progress of the Hooping Cough , the Meaales , the Cow Pox , or Vaccine Inoculation . The superior excellence of this Medicine , which can be attested b y any respectable famil y in Manchester , has induced several unprincipled persons , fa various large townts ( particularly St . Helens , ' Dudley and Liverpool ) , to vend a Counteifeit Medicine , with a copy of the Bill of directions , although , the Proprietor is happy to say with vety little success ' ; yet great injury , no . doubt , to thesuffcrinjg'infahb » y and no less pain to their anxious Parents , have Seen thus occasioned . To prevent which , and in order to obtain the Genuine Medicina , observe that » ach Bottle has upon the Stamp affixed over the cor > , the name of " Robkri Barkbb , No . 1 j Marketplace , Manchester , " engraved thereon , by favor of Her Majesty V Commissioner * efStamn Dutei . a

Cure of Rheumatism of Fvrty Years standing , at Malmsbury , Wilts . To Mr . Prout , 229 , Strand , London . Sir , —I feel that I am performing a duty , to acknowledge publicly the very great benefit which I have derived from taking BLAIR'S GOUT AND RHEUMATIC PILLS , after having beeoafflicted with Rheumatism in my left hip , thigh , shoulders , h « ad and arms , for forty years—fora long period the
pain was so great that I frequently started ttp in bed — . in-fact , for seven years before taking BLAIR'S PILLS I had little or oo rest night or day , although I had the best medical advice , both in and out of tbe army . I am new happy to gay that I am free from this painful disease , and have been so for three months . These pills- were recommended to me by r ay brother in Bath , who has been « urei by them of Gout and Rheumatism of long standing , and advised me t « lose no time in applying far them , te your Agent , Mr . Walker , Druggist , Malmsbury , which I did , and after taking five boxes , am eo « - plotely cured . Witness my hand this 22 d February ,
. HENRY WILKINSON , Upwards « f 17 years of the Roy * l Marines . Mr . Walker , Chemist , Malmxbury , will testify respecting the authenticity of th >» letter . The above is another proof of the great efficacy ef thin excellent Medicine , which has called forth the grateful thanks and approbation of aft classes of society . From many of the highest branches of the nobility to the poorest peasant , they have happily been the means of giving a degree of health and
comfort , which in most cases hare not been enjoyed for years ; they effectually relieve the most acute fit of Gout in a few hours , and seldom fail to enable the patient to resume his usual avocation in two or three days , and if taken on the first symptoms , ' the patient is frequently left in doubt a # to the reality of the attack . And there is another most important effect belonging to this medicine—that it prevents tbe disease flying to the brain , stomach , or other vital part .
