Foreign Affairs ' Matters Of Too Much In...
_FOREIGN AFFAIRS ' _MATTERS of too much interest are oeCTpvimj tne attention ef oar friends and reader * at home , to admit of tbeir caring much about Foreign N _*« r *; indeed there is bot litrJe news , nave that all over , and all over alike , tyranny and factions role are either at their wits' end , or are doing , as usual , deeds of darkness , r _.-bbery , and murder . In Spun the peop le are yet crucified between tbe two murderous thieves by whom tbey have been cursed so long , and _. vhese ferocity bids fair _entirely to _denooala' _-e tbe _country .
The Madrid Gazette _conians a letter Irom _BcriMs of tht 22 nd ult ., announcing that the authorities had _publii-hrd a bando , in virtue of which ail the _Carli-ts who _should fall into t \ e bands of the _QtjEEs ' s troops are to be instantly _s-bot , " in retaliauoa for a recent ac ; of ferocity ef _Balhaseda , who , without any other motive than his sanguinary caprice , had _caused eight _soldics and a national guard of BalUBas to be put to death at _Oooillas . "
In France tbe Citizen _Sr-oundrei ba « , alter ascertaining that even the middle elass harpies wo _' _-ik not consent U his being sole Governor in his own perron—an _irresponsible Xing without spy _respe-n-« 5 ble Ministry , at last patched up a _Ministry of imbecile * , » enable Via formally to meet Parliament , whom he does not in ten-1 to re _* _ain , and whom nobody _gtr * pect » of being able to stand . The thing is evidently on its last legs . It will fall toon ; ana when it does so , if the French people p ermit it to be again resuscitated , they deserve * K _*> ir f » fp .
American papers _kare been received since our last , but their contents are unimportant . The Boaudary _Question is ia statu quo ; and there i _* no doubt that if wilful and stupid _obj-fcnacy can provoke a war , we shall have one , unless tbe _neosle prevent it , which they can if they choose .

Increase of Crime in the County of Sussex . —At the _aspires last week there were nearl y fifty prisoners for trial , though the _sessiens had been beld but three weeks before , and , whilst the judges were actually sitting , fourteen offences were committed in different parts of the county , moat of whioh a few years ago wonld have been visited by the punishment of death . Perhaps Lord RoJen will move for an inquiry into the cause of this _to « reai * e of crime in the caunty of Sussex . By some it _urty be attributed to tbe ignorance of ihe people ; but are they more ignorant now than a hundred or even fifty years ago ? It may be said , again , that it is owing to tbeir depravity ; but why are the people more depraved now than formerl y ?
