' To those suffering from the consequences which this disease may hare left behind in the form of secondary symptoms , eruptions of the skin , blotches on the head and face , ulcerations and enlargement of the throat , tonsils , and threatened destruction of the nose , palate , ( tc , nodes on the shin bones , or any of those painful affections arising from the dangerous effects of the indiscriminate use of mercury , or the evils of an imperfect cure , the Concentrated Detersive Essence will be found to be attended with the most astonishing effects , in checking the ravages of the disorder , removing all scorbutic complaints , and effectually re-establishing the health of the constitution . To persons entering upon the responsibilities of matrimony , and who ever had the misfortune during their more youthful days to be affected with any form of these diseases , a previous course of this medicine is highly essential , and of the greatest importance , as more serious affections are visited upon an _iimocrp _* wife and offspriHg , from a want of these simple precautions , than perhaps half the world is aware of ; for , it must be remembered , where the fountain is polluted , the streams that flow from it cannot be pure .

Slfithfiein Market.—Momuv.—The General T...
_SlfiTHFiEin Market . —Momuv . —The general tone of trade at Smithfield this morning was heavy , and a decline in priees for everything took place . A clearance was far from being effected by the close . The cause of the reaction is attributed to the plentiful supply offering , and the comparative dulness in thu retail dan und . The num . ber of Beasts was 2 , 880 , which met with a dull inquiry , at a fallof 4 d . ' per stone for inferior coarse quality , and 2 d ' upon middling and the best _descriptions , The supply of Sheep and Lambs comprised ' . ' 8 . 250 head of fair average quality . The Mutton trade was ' heavy , and prices declined feom _^ d , to 4 d . pev stone . The Lamb trade _ivas the finest of all , but buyers were not very active . The warmer stateof the weather is favourable to the trade ia this kind ofmoat . _SAtFoiin New Cattle Market . — "Wednesday . —We were well supplied with stock , and a good portion ofthe Beasts were from Ireland , and in prime condition . Sheep too , in rather better show than of late . The host Beef Gd , to _fijd . per 10 ., prime Mutton GSd . to Id . per lb . _Nearly all was sold up .
_Newcastle Cattle Mabket . —Tuesday . —At our market this morning tiiere was a good show of Beasts , which was of a superior quality ; the smallest and worst suppl y of Sheep we have had for the last four years , und a middling supply of Swine . In tlie Beast market , notwithstanding the increase of numbers from last week , there was a good demand for all sorts , prices steady , and all { sold up . In the Sheep market there was a brisk demand , and prices were a shade higher , and all sold . A slow demand for Pigs : prices looking down , and a part left unsold . The following quotations were fully supported _. Barley continues in limited demand , Oats held for Is . per qr . more money , which , is only complied with fo p limited quantities . Few transactions reported in Beans . Leeds Corn Market—Our arrival of all Grain is short Good Wheat is readily taken off at Is . per quarter advarica to-day , and there is a little more doing in secondary qualities , at late rates . There is a steady sale tor good Barley , at full prices . In Oats and Beans there is no alteration . LiVEiirooi , Corn Market . —Monday . —Since last Tuesday the importation of Grain , Meal , and Flour , from
Ireland has been larger than for several weeks past , and , with the exception of 6940 barrels of Flour from the United States , the arrivals from abroad have been moderate . The business in free Wheat during the week has been on a moderate scale , and prices have been barely maintained . Flour has had a dull sale , and both sacks and barrels have been sold the turn cheaper . The demand for Oats has been limited , and there has been little change in their value . Oatmeal has sold slowly . Barley , Beans and Peas have had merely a retail sale . Indian Corn continues in request for both Ireland and Scotland , and full prices are obtained , The bonded market has attractd more attention than of late , and several transactions have ooeured in both Wheat and Flour , but no cliango can be made on late quotations .
Manchester Corn Mabket . —Saturday . —Although tha business transacted in Flour during the week has not been of so active a character as might have been anticipated from the reduced state of the stocks of that article , there has nevertheless been a fair consumptive demand for good fresh qualities , for which the improved currency of the preceeding market day was firmly maintained . In either Oats or , Oatmeal there was little passing with _, out alteration in prices . At our market this morning the demand for Wheat was on a limited scale ; the best description were , however , held for rather more money _, but in other kinds no change ean be noted . Approved brands of Flour were in steady though not lively request , at previous rates . Oats were but little inquired for ; whilst Oatmeal of choice quality , on the contrary , was much 80 U 2 ht after , and realized fully the prices of this day se ' nnight . !
Wabrington Cobn Market . —Wednesday . —At this market there was . a fair attendance , but not much Wheat offering . There was a free sale at' 3 d . per bushel advance , say 7 s 9 d to 8 s , 8 s 3 d and 8 s 6 d per 701 bs . Oats , 3 s 9 d to Is per 451 bs ; Barley , is 6 d to 4 s 9 d per COlbs . Flour , best seconds . 39 s ; common do ., S 7 s j some dealers , how ever , got ls per load more for each quality , ¦ * Meal , 85 s to * 80 s per _2401 bs . ¦ Of Potatoes there was the largest supply that we have had this year , but a very slow sale at Is to ls Gd per load less money . Of pinkeyes , the bulk fetched 22 s 3 d , some 13 s ; farmers and short'tops , 9 s per load of 2551 bs . Wakefieid Corn Mabket , —Friday . —The market is again thinly supplied with grain . There was a good inquiry for fresh and fine samples of Wheat , at an advance of is . per quarter , common descriptions also participated in the improvement . Heavy Barley rather dearer , ia other sorts no alteration . Fine small Beans a trifle higher .
Oats and shelling , each in better request , at fuUy previous prices . Malt easy sale . . Hull Corn Market . —Tuesdaj * . —We have to report & better feeling in the Corn trade during the past week . There has been some' inquiry for old Wheat , which , has led to moderate business at full prices . The weather has been unsettled and cold . At to day's market we had only a small supply of "Wheat from the farmers , which , with . the better accounts from London , caused our millers to give fully ls . per qr . more money ; there was more doing in free foreign , and , owing to the firmness of holders , we quote the same advance as in english ; in bonded no transactions . Spring Corn unaltered . Linseed still con tinues very flat . Rape seed the same as last week . Linseed Cakes keep firm , without much business passing . Raps Cakes are in fair demand at the quotations , Bones have a downward tendency , with very large supplies . Guauo is but dull .
Richmond ( Yorkshire ) Corn Market . —Saturday . — We had a plentiful supply of all kinds of grain in our Market to day . Wheat sold from 5 _si to 9 s ; oats 8 s . to 4 s -id barley , 4 s . to 4 s . 3 d ; beans 4 s . Ud . to 5 s . 6 d . per bushel .
State Of Trade. Leeds.—There Has Not Bee...
STATE OF TRADE . Leeds . —There has not been quite so much business done , either on Saturday or Tuesday , as en the two previous market days . As regards quantity , however , more fine and middle qualities of cloths were sold than for some time past . Prices keep steady , and the stock of goods , _generally , is getting less in the hands ofthe manufacturers . There has also been less doing in the warehouses this week , but more than was thecase a few weeks ago . —Leeds Mercury . Manchester We have had but a very moderate busi . ness in cloth since Tuesday , especially in domestic and printing cloth , which are depressed below all other kinds . Sheetings , though better to sell than those stated , are anything hut brisk ; and the market closes heavily for aU descriptions , the silk trade is also in a most depressed state , and without any immediate prospect of improve _, ment . Twist is by no means so brisk as it ought to bo at this s _nson ; priees in no way changed since Tuesday . Bradiohd , Wool . —There lias been more inquiry for wool , and , on the whole , more business done . The stock in _f-e market of such things as are wanted , is only small , which arises from the growers seeking priees that cannot be realized here , and the staplers hold , from seeing that
they cannot replace their stocks at a profit . Yarns : The firmness in tbe wool market compels the spinners to seek an advance for May delivery , as the rates current only barely pays the cost of the raw materials , wliich , from the supply . both in . the market and into country being so small ,, renders ' all hope of relief from wool , at a reduced price , very distant . The diminished production , owing to machinery totally idle and others partially employed , is telling favourably towards an amendment , as there are only small stocks , and the spinners working to order . Piece : There isa gooddeal of business doing in all kinds of goods suitable for tlie autumn , both by the export houses and the home trade merchants . The fancy trade is still very depressed , and the stocks on hand very much reduced , as the makers are unwilling to make except to order , which has pressed very heavily on the operatives so engaged , as they have only been partially employed through the winter . _HuDDEKsriELD . —There has been a fair amount of business done to-day in fabrics suited to the season , although a due caution is observed on the part ef buyers to select only for their immediate wants . There has been a slight improvement in the warehouses during the week .
Hamfax . — There are rather more favourable symp . toms in business this week , the demand having been more animated both for wool and manufactured goods , than for many weeks past . Prices remain stationary . Rochdale Flannel Market . —We have had a steadydemand for pieces to-day , but the manufacturers complain that the prices are too low to remunerate them for their labour and . capital . There is very little change in the wool market either in price or quantity sold to re . port , bnt the prevailing opinion is that a better trade would soon cause an advance in the raw material . IIecksiondwike . —We have had two brisk markets this week , and prices are a little firmer . Manufacturers com . plain that they cannot obtain the raw material at tha same price they could a few weeks ago .
Leicester . —A few shipping orders are executing for regular hosiery and fancy goods , but we do not hear of any orders for making , so that the workmen are no better employed . The home trade is a shade better . The cotton season being now approaching to a close , worsted yarns are more in demand , aud are firm in price . Wools are steady , und combing skins is in good request . Glasgow —Cotton Yarn : The business doing still continues limited , being confined to the immediate wants of the manufacturers , and prices are without change . —Cot . ton goods : The market continues much in the same state as reported last week , but on the whole we think that trade generally is improving . —Iron : Prices are as undemoted : —Pig iron £ 3 10 s ., bar iron £ 10 , nail rods £ 11 , boiler plates and sheets £ 1310 s . per ton . —American
produce : Sweet barrel flour , best Canadian , 32 s . 6 d . nett , sour ditto , 32 s . Gd . per barrel ; 1 st Montreal pots , 23 s . Cd . to 24 s ., 1 st ditto , pearl . 23 s . ( Jd , lard , common , 47 s . to 48 s ., ditto refined , 50 s ., cheese . States , ordinary , _D 2 s ., ditto best , 55 s ,, butter , Canadian , 70 s . to 75 s . per cwt . : The flour market is quite firm : the large quantity bonded , which will not be released before July at the earliest and the small stocks of consumers , cause holders to look for a moderate rise before that time . Sour gets scarce , and brings as good a price as sweet . Ashes are flat , although tlie stock on hand is not heavy . Lard and cheese keep moving pretty freel y at the above rates . There have been some sales of Canadian butter during the week , at pneesrather lower than the quotation , the quantity being indifferent , . *
Nottingham . —The wrought : cotton hose branch , which employs the greatest number ofhands , but does not too , ducethe greatest .. quantity of . stockings , is still in a de . pressed state , the extra-fine hose gradually disappearing . _Thecut-up hose frames , through all tlie numerous departments and variations , are rather brisker than tho wrought hose . The cotton glove branch is still very good ; but we are grieved to state that the silk glove trade has met with a serious check . The drawer and pantaloon , branch is not by any means worse , most of the hands having employment . The silk hose branch , whether plain-knotted or ribbed , is becoming gradually extinct , every year lessening the number of frames employed . The fancy lace trade is reviving a shade . We regret to say that the warp trade has not amended . Leeds . —We are glad to say that the woollen trade of tins town and neighbourhood is showing signs of improvement , though uot to any very great extent . A good amount of business has been done this week , both at the Cloth Halls and tlw warehouses . The demand for the finer qualities of cloth is better than it has been for some time past . Slocks are low and prices firm .
Lancashire . _—T-he trade in cotton mills at Oldham is a little better than it was a fortnight ago , and the hands generally have full employment . The joiners and _narpenters are yet on strike , and are likely to remain so at present . The woollen cloth trade at Saddleworth is iu a nwderately healthy state ; wages are rather low , and _profits upon manufactured goods were scarcely ever known to bo less . The hatting branches at Oldham , Den . ton , Ashton , Stockport ami vicinities , is better than it was six weeks ago , and yet the operatives on an average have not move than four or five days' work per week , atlesa wages than they had at most places two years ago . There is less building going on in the above-named districts this spring than there was hist year at this time . The flannel trade in Rochdale is slowly improving , but _iiianutacturers make loud complaints of the smnllness of profits . The other trades appear to ho only in a moderate state . Calico block printing at Church Pai ish is better than it was three weelw ago , but operatives are only partially employed . The silk trade in tlie towns round Manchester is in a precarious state , owing to an expectation that aa alteration will _tuhe nlac * in , U \ v raw material ,
