The scholars are instructed on the Monday evening as well as on the Sunday , the expense of lighting being defrayed by themselves . The teachers are twenty-four in number . '
« Flagg . 4 aspect of Unitarianism in this district is highly encouraging . In consequence of an application from the inhabitants of Flagg .,. Mr . Duffield again visited this district in February last . The following are extracts from the Report made by him on his return .
• " Flagg is a small village containing about 500 inhabitants , principally farmers and their labourers . Ifc contains no place of worship , and no Sunday School . "— " The inhabitants propose to . erect a building capable of containing 150 persons to be devoted to the worship of the Father of Jesus as the only God , and to the instruction of children in
a Sunday School . "— " They have no doubt , that , when the building is erected , there will be a good congregation , and no lack of either Sunday scholars or teachers . " — "The expense of the building , in addition to the free labour which will be given by the farmers , js estimated at from 60 to
" 01 . rhe ^ inhabitants request assistance to the amount of 30 / . ; and engage to furnish , in addition , whatever may be necessary to the completion of the building . This they have , in public Meeting , agreed to raise by a voluntary rate upon themselves . " ' ¦

condition of a guarantee on the part ; of the inhabitants of Flagg to complete the building , and that the chapel , for the purpose of the Worship of the Father of Jesus Christ , as the only God , be vested in sixteen trustees , of whom the subscribers at Flagg shall appoint eight , and this Committee eiffhi . " In addition to pubrhrreljgious services and Sunday schools , the Committee operate by means of ambulatory libraries and tracts . We have made these extracts , not as showing the extent , but the
efficiency of the labours of the Society ; not to offer any incense of praise , but to show how they address themselves to the young as well as the mature ; seeking not to extend opinions only , but to cultivate in yet tender minds the love of holiness .
We conclude with our earnest wishes that they may find the means of more extended usefulness . - They appear to us to be ^ pufsuing the missionary work by right measures , and in a right spirit . If we could persuade any of our" readers to give them pecuniary assistance , we should deem that we had done a great good .
