They are deficient in a sense which is the sun of the soul . They are as unfitted for the , intercourse , of heaven ^ as would be -a mother to preside over her family , whose affections , such as they were , extended not beyond herself . The mind is nothing more than the seed bed of eternity . The fruit which it bears under the nurturing influence of the feelings is the treasure of immortality . Whether there be prophecies , they shall fail ; whether there be knowledge , it shall vanish away . Even faith shall be changed into sight , and hope pass into fruition ; but the love which knowledge , faith , and hope shall have conspired to produce—love the greatest , because the final end of these—love is eternal . ¦ ¦
