"TSJrCollege Missionary Society once more venture to intrude themselves upon the notice of the public , to return thanks for the liberality by which they have been enabled to carry on the objects of the society , and to furnish some account of the
nature and extent of their operations . During the whole of the present collegiate session , the chapels at Welburn arid Malton have been supplied without a single interruption . ^ A : t Welburn the ie&ertions of the members have been received and answered in the best manner they could possibly desire . The congregation has rather increased than diminishedJupljnuinher , and the
zeal of this exemplary Christian society is as attentive and as lively as it ever was . Of Malton , the Missionary Society have not the satisfaction of being able to make so favourable a report . The number of attendants , which at the outset of their labours frequently exceeded a hundred , has latterly dwindled to thirtyfive or forty ; and notwithstanding a short course of controversial lec ^

On Friday , June the 21 st , the Annual Meeting of Ministers for the counties of Derby , Leicester , Nottingham , and the south of Yorkshire , was held by appointrneiit at Ghesterfield . The service was introduced by the Rev . E . Higginson , of Hull , and the Rev . CHABL . Es Berry , of
Leicester , preached an excellent sermon from Luke x . 27 , on the Duty of Habitual Devotion . On the evening of the preceding day , the Rev . T . 0 . HoLLANp , of Loughborough , deli vered an able discourse from Isaiah liii . 4 , intended as a reply to some remarks , contained in a sermon by the late
Rev . Robert Hall , on the Doctrine of Vicarious Suffering . . On Friday evening a large party of friends met to tea , in a commodious room prepared , and kindly lent for the occasion . Several interesting speeches were made by the ministers and
laygentlemen present , pn the state . and prospects of the Unitarian body . The business of the evening concluded with singing and prayer , and the company separated about nine o ' clock , highly gratified with , the proceedings of the day .
