I pray for you with my whole heart , and I ask your prayers for myself , Our ministry is indeed but one in the series of measures arid means , by which the objects of Christianity are to b ^ Bpcom ^ li ^ s ^ ij ^ MW . ywxlip But it is a means indispensable to the end . The established ministry of Christendom , almost universally at least , by the very principles of its organization , is in a great degree confined to those who are either proprietors of the buildings in which their weekly social worship is held , or who are known to ministers as worshippers in these buildings . And who are they , and how many are they , who have no connexion with these places of worship j or who , if they occasionally stray into them , are neither
known to the minister , nor kiidw a being on the earth whom they can call a Christian friend ! Who are they ? Are they not , like ourselves , men ? Have they not within their breasts as many deep passions , and as many conflicting interests , as are within us , and those united with u »? Have they fewer moral exposures than we have ; fewer temptations to combat , and fewer trials to endure ? Have they less need than we of the controlling , exciting , and directing power of Christian principles ? They are ignorant , it is said ; but from whence comes their ignorance ?
