he saith unto them : ' Come after me , and I will make you fishers of men . ' So they straightway left their nets , and followed him . And passing on thence , he saw two other brethren , James the son of Zebedee , and John his brother , in the ship [ a small sailing vessel used for the purpose of fishing ] with Zebedee their father , -refitting-tl ^ the ship , and their father , and followed him .

' And having so done , they enclosed a great multitude of fishes ; but their net wits breaking ;

Simon . with Simon . ) But Jesus said unto Simon : * Fear not , henceforth thou s shalt catch men' \ i . e . as fishes . ] So having brought the ships , to land , they left all , and followed him . [ Some have doubted whether this narrative of Luke can-be reconciled to those of-Matthew and Mark , and have therefore referred it to a different time ; but Luke may only have related facts omitted by the other ? , and the general likeness greatly preponderates over the difference in the narratives . ]
