We have recorded in another place , with great satisfaction , the substance of the annual report of this society . We are always glad to learn that the work of Christian instruction is proceeding , though it be mixed with human traditions , and wrong inferences from misunderstood scripture . The two great commandments of the law , love to God and love to man , must form the foundation of all Christian morals , and extensively , though not entirely , neutralize the effect of false doctrine . The Rev . Dr . Wardlawy who moved the first resolution , must have writhed , however , under the infliction of the following flattery , for it must have opened afresh the wounds received from the- castigating hand of the . Bey . J . X ateS ; and which he cannot have forgotten , however his eulogist may not know , or not remember .
