Sacramental Test Repeal . Commemoration Dinner at Freemasons' Hall , on the 18 th June . We never so much lamented the narrowness of our limits as when we found Ourselves unable to present our readeis with an ample report of this most
important and glorious meeting . Those who partook its gratification know how vain it would be to attempt to convey an adequate impression of the delight which glowed in every bead and heart * but we hope that the United Committee will be induced to conclude their labours by publishing the verbatim report taken by their

own short-band writers . Meantime wfi would say , that " The World" contained a very creditable report , and that the " Morning Chronicle" did the same , though on a more reduced scale . To these we must for the present refer our readers . The great object of such a meeting has
been most happily attained . The Dissenters have been brought forward iit the most honourable character . They have been seen by many who have been too credulous to the calumnies of those whose interest it is to weaken and divide , uniting with a sympathy aud enthusiasm which those who witnessed can atone
estimate * , hailing the most enlarged principles of religious charity ; and expressing to their illustrious Catholic guests their acknowledgment of the obligations which their own triumph imposed on them to be doubly zealous in working out the same liberty for others .
No circumstance occurred , during a meeting which lasted with intense and increasing interest to an unusually late hour , to impair or weaken for a moment that character which the friends of religion and freedom would wish to see impressed on such an assembly . The speeches were all those which delighted by their eloqueuce , and stimulated to
generous and good feelings by the conciliatory and liberal feeling which they breathed . No one present will ever banish the memory of such a day from his mind ; and no Dissenter who was absent , can be otherwise than proud of the character in which the community to which he belongs , and the principles which he professes , were represented .
The room was crowded at an early hour ; and the galleries were filled with ladies , gracing with their presence , as well becomes them , the triumph of Christian charity and -religious toleration . At a quarter past six o ' clock , his . Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex entered the room , and was loudly cheered by all the company . His Royal Highness was
preceded , or accompanied , by a numerous assemblage of Noblemen and Gentlemen , all of whom were loudly and , warmly greeted . Among them were the Earl of Carnarvon , Lord Holland , Lord John Russell , Lord King , Lord Nugent , Lord Althorp , Lord Stourton , Lord Stafford ,
Lord Clifford , Lord Durham , Lord Howick , Lord Dacre , Mr . Brougham , M . P ., Sir F . Burdett , M . P ., Sir Henry Parnell , M . P . > Sir J 6 hn Newport , M . P ., Mr . Hume , M .
