Bristowe to think his friend
more highly culpable" than Mr . Parsons , for he avowedly was , in drawing up his account of the Founder of the Society of Friends , writing not from Neal only , but from Gough , their historian : yet he carelessl y overlooked , or neglected to refer to him for the birth . place of Mr . Fox : who precisely states that " he was a native of
Leicestershire , being born at Dray ton in the Clay , in the said county , * in the year 1624 . " Vol . I . p . 1 . In excuse of Mr . Parsons ' s error it may be pleaded , that it was scarcely theprovinceof theabridger of a work to examine the accu-
