the opposers of the bill to imagine that tbeir triumph is complete . They must keep their eye on the proceedings in parliament . It is by means of some petty evil , that strikes every one , that great injury may be done to the fabric of
religious liberty ^ which cannot be secure , till all who name the name of Christ are perfectly convinced that every attempt to exercise dominion over those of a different
persuasion is directly repugnant to the whole government of our Lord and Master . The , Committee , who had so ahly conducted the resistance to thjs bill , presented a report of their proceedings at a general meeting
on the 24 th , and it was a source of great satisfaction to see such a number assembled , of very different religious peijguasions , concurring in their thanks to the instruments under providence , by whom this attempt against our liberty had been baffled . One circumstance
