Your correspondent ' s account of Mr . W . Whitaker , p . 212 , is correct . It may not be improper to add to it , that my friend broke a blood-vessel in the evening after preaching twice at Moriey Chapel , on Mat . xxiv , 44 . From that
hour he considered himself as under the sentence of death , and would never suffer himself to be flattered ^ as he knew many have been , in consumptive cases , with the hdpe of recovery . Having
determined to print these his two last discourses , to be distributed gratis among his friends ^ after his decease , and prefixed an admonition against self-deception in cases like his own , he sent the copy to me a very short tin > e before his death , with a request that I would undertake to be the editor
of it . The late Mr . Bnckland afterwards requested leave to print an edition for public sate , which he accordingly did , and the whol speedily went off . S « P .
