Sir , The following letters , written by the great ^ Dr . Hartley , the former when he was seventeen and
the latter when he was thirty years of age , were printed , " through the kindness of the ingenious and excellent Dr .
Percival of Manchester , '' in a ' work , which I believe is little known , entitled u A Supplement to the Anecdotes of some distinguished Persons , chiefly of the present and two preceding centuries * .
