substitution ; and that on pain af our displeasure , and at the . horrible peril of being called Livid for the envious neglect thereof , all persons are enjoined not simply to avoid designating fey the word Blue any lady tliat
hath right and title to the designation of Violet , but to take every pains now and henceforward so to designate het , that is to say , by the said name , style , and title of Violet , iii all and every such instance as would have occasioned her to
be called Blue , had she not more worthily deserved . And it will give us pleasure to hear through the medium of any of our numerous
Secretaries of State , by private information conveyed to the said Secretaries , tnat such injunction hath been loyally attd zealously attended to ; and the word Violet become common in all mouths worthy to jbavjs the utterance thereof .
