, ARTICLE I . Letters to Dissenting Ministers , and to Students for the Ministry , from the Rev . Mr . Job Orion . Transcribed from his original Short-hand ^ with Notes Explanatory and Bio graphical . To which are . prefixed ,. Memoirs of his Life * By S . Palmer . 2 vols . 12 mo . Longman and Co . IS 06 . -Having delineated so largely Mr . Orton ' s character , it will be less necessary to examine the Letters before us with extraordinary minuteness ; suffice it to say , that they are an exact transcript of his mind . Many of them are letters of advice . No persons more want advice than Dissenting , especially young Dissenting Ministers , as few have been so well able to give it

I hear he has a very agreeable sister , whose charms have attracted your attention , and perhaps affection too . lam a perfect stranger to the whole family ; but if my information be right , that she hath little or no fortune , I cannot think that such an alliance will be prudent , especially as you have so little of your own , and perhaps are not
remarkable for economy . There is an old rule which I remember in the Grammar , that deserves your attention : " Duo negativa plerumque vehementius negant . ' You will therefore think , ana think again , before you pursue such a scheme , especially as you may reasonably expect , considering your education , profession , and station , that you may vicet with a ivife < with a handsomefortune ^ as many other Dissenting Ministers have done / - ^
