The primary and immediate object of this Company is to lay down a telegraphic cable in the Eed Sea , between Suez and Aden , so as to- effect telegraphic communication thus far with India at the earliest possible period . This object maybe completed in a few months , simultaneously with the Meditccraueau telegraph to Alexandria . By this means communication , with all India wilt be brought within oiie week , and . by the extension to Kurrachee , which will immediately follow , hourly communication will be established . The political value of this undertaking at the present juncture is too painfully established by recent occurrences in India to require comment , -wlale it 3 eocial and commercial importance is scarcely less urgent-The Honourable the East India Company participate so full y in these views , that th « y have consented , to guarantee a minimum annual revenue of 2 ( MK ) 0 f . on the first section to Aden , from the date of the ffjst message received , aoeom - panied by assurances of every necessary assistance- an * support- This arrangement only awaits the confirmation of hei Majesty ' s Government , without which the Company will not proceeo . As a commercial investment , the returns , wkieh have been carefully prepared , and which may be inspected , at the office , show a profit far exceeding ; any ordinary returns from similar enterprises . This statement wilt be appreciated by those connected with the trade of . India , to whom ifi will be evident that all orders for produce , insurance , shipments , arrivals , departures , accidents , ctiange of destination of vessels , &c . Ac , would be the subject of teleRraphic communication . It is proposed , so soon as the capital issubscribed , to purchase the Atlantic Cable , or provide a < new cable , whichever may be decided to be best for the object in view . The Cable will be laid in sections of from 80 O to-000 miles ., and arrangements have beoa made with responsible contractors to undcrtuko tho risk of laying it . The Company have secured the necessary concessionsfrorn tho ' . Turkish and Ligyptian- Governments . , The urgency of tho undertaking is universally admitted . Tho remunerative results are placed beyond all doubt . Perfect immunity from all a : isk is-secured by tlie Limited Liability Act , and by the guarantees- of the Government , the East India Company , and tho contractors .
