JOINT STOCK COMPANIES . — - — - Al the extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the _Ottoman Bane , the net profits for the half- year , including £ 3 , 236 brought forward , were stated at JE 26 _. , of which the report recommended that *<> 00 b be added to the reserve fund , and that a dividend for the six months , at tje _» t e of 8 per cent , per annum be declared . At Constantinople steps have been taken to secure the punctual re- mittance of the dividends on the loan raised last year . A commission has been appointed , consisting of six persons , members of the Government , who have associated with them Mr . Gilbertson The _Ses of this commission will be to a certain ex- tent to regulate the finances and to make sugges- tions to the Turkish Government . Except at Beyrbut , the business of all the _Ranches has im- proved . Mr . Layard also mentioned that as it was the wish of the shareholders at the last meeting that they should have a regular superintendent of the whole business of the bank , both at _Constants npple and at the branches , the directors have elected to that office Mr . Gilbertson . The directors of the Cbntsal Mineral Lead Minihg Company ( Limited ) have declared their first dividend of 4 s . per share , payable on the 26 th _instant The report of the Intercolonial Royal Mail Steam Packet Company , just issued states that during the first year of incorporation the directors had established an exclusive monthly mail service between Sydney and the principal ports of the colonyofNew Zealand , giving equal facilities to the towns and settlements of Sydney , Nelson , Wei- lington , Auckland , Canterbury , NewPlymouth , and Otago . The company had received a further sub- sidy of . £ 6 , 000 , in addition to the . . £ 24 , 000 per annum from the colonial government for running a boat monthlv betwppn _Svdnpr an < 1 _Awoklanrl _rlirpet mommy Detween tsyaney and . _AucKlana direct . The fleet of the company consisted of four splendid steamers every way suited to the service required . The accounts had not yet arrived , but the managers' -SSSit «! _SfS ? d the i a _ftllv _. n Sin T _° _S without the subsidy , were fully equal to , if not m excess of , the gross expenditure , which would leave a balance of £ 7 , 600 18 s . 5 d . in favour of the com- pany . This amount , after deducting _jE 4 820 13 s * lid . for depreciation , enabled the directors now to pro- pose an ad interim dividend at the rate of l _\ per cent , per annum . r The ' ninth dividend of 20 s . per share is an- nounced on _thp _shares in _tlio _TTrtkrt _AVTk ftis r _* m \ r _nouncea on tne snares m tlie JiKiBSLAND _UAS COM- _PA _** - The directors of the Bank of Australasia an- nounce a half-yearly dividend of 24 s . a share , being at the rate of y 6 pef cent , _per . annum , and also a bonus of 56 s . a share , making together £ 4 a share , or equal to 20 per cent , per annum . ¦ —
